The New Zealand Export Credit Office (NZECO) provides financial guarantee products for New Zealand exporters and banks. NZECO products help exporters manage risk and capitalise on export opportunities. They have recently introduced several new products that may be of interest to those performing service contracts or providing large equipment into the export market.
The General Contract Bond product is of particular interest. A companys ability to post bonds is reliant on the availability of additional tangible security. The NZECO bond products are designed to support these initiatives. Given the tightening of credit markets, this product may be able to assist those companies looking at the project market in Australia and elsewhere.
