BHP Billiton is considering a major expansion of its Olympic Dam operations to more than double current production capacity. An open pit mine is the current preferred option to achieve the proposed capacity increase because of the scale of the ore body, BHP Billiton is undertaking a two year pre-feasibility study, which includes the examination of a broad range of alternatives. BHP Billiton in conjunction with the Industry Capability Network SA will be conducting a potential supplier review prior to the implementation of the Olympic Dam Expansion Project. This review will take place over the next 3-4 months and will be an in depth review of suppliers capability and capacity. Prior to registration we suggest that you review BHP Billiton supplier policies, which can be found on their web site or by clicking on the links below.
